Life is Green

Gumising ka at bumangon,

sumabay sa pag-agos…

Maglakad,lumundag, tumakbo!

Isa,dalawa,tatlo––

alalay ay saklay

paika-ika pa rin kung kumilos.

Huminga ng malalim,

sabay kumpas!

Isa,dalawa,tatlo

Mabuhay ka!

I love the man who always holds my hand

and never left me behind.

He lifts me up and never let me down,

give His life without a second mind.

I love the man who keeps me laughing

and put tears in my laughing eyes.

He makes impossible things worth living

that’s the reason why I keep in breathing.

I love the man who clears my vision

and shows me the right way to love,

He put wonderful colors in my sight

and He gives me comfort with delight.

I love the man who turns my world so bright.

His overflowing love becomes my light.

He promised to give me a blessed life

because He really loves me and He really does.

Magandang Umaga

The Sweetness of Waiting

As I’m waiting to the final call from the HR of the publishing company where I applied last month, I spend my days of doing ’things’ and sometimes doing nothing. And doing nothing is terribly boring.

-I am thinking what’s really ”holding” for me to start this new career.

-I almost completed all the job requirements and I made the effort to complete it before the Holy Week and thinking it is a ”plus factor” to start immediately.

- But when I applied in getting NBI Clearance in the City Hall of Quezon City last March 25, I ended up to wait until April 19 to get it since I have the same name appearing in their data—Is it really that long to verify it???? Hhhmmm.

-In the room I am renting, I always heard birds playing and singing. It is very uncommon nowadays in a city.

- I am also thinking a new topic to write but I am still clueless.

- My college friends are always planning to ”meet and talk” but we never been completed since our graduation. Maybe this stage of being ”professionals” is the hardest time to gather friends.

- It is really hot today but I have to turn-off the electric fan for it serves me a straight 18-hours. It also need a rest just like anybody else.

- But I still enjoy drinking hot coffee. I love Kopiko 3 in 1! :)

- The cat outside is pregnant—again and again and again… Who is responsible for that? :)

- Body pain after the work-out in the gym is a kind of pain I love to endure. Some are asking me why I do it? Because I wanted to become stronger—physically, emotionally and mentally and not to simply lose weight.

-And how about my spiritual strength? I am thankful because I am saved by the Grace of God. Listen and read the Word.

- Finally, I thank God for this moment that He is testing my trust and patience. It only means He has greater plans for me. :)

Love Makes The Ride Worthwhile

We decided to have a motorcycle ride from Manila to Baguio.

I must say, it was a long-tiring-love-adventure!

It was unplanned road trip taking the Mc Arthur Highway and passed some provinces. Sight-seeing of the natural wonders is one of the best which the North can offer.

Witnessing the provincial life,

relaxing, quite and simple…

the green rice fields and

the carabaos, the beautiful sunrise

and the stunning silver lining sky…

I believe that the long road makes our relationship stronger. Sitting next to him and lying on his back gives me security and protection. Yes, it’s a little uncomfortable ride because my back, knees and legs feels stiff and sometimes we need to stop over under those big trees and sit in those green grasses.

The routes

Ooppss… Which way we should take? Turn left or right? It is unfamiliar routes but who cares? Just go on and take the lead.

I remember the sign somewhere in Tarlac wherein Jollibee is pointing ‘Alternative route to Baguio’ and I said “just follow that sign”, (Hahaha) I want to laugh because it’s a long-long-long-drive along the cemented road between rice fields. Well, at least we bypassed the heavy traffic somewhere out there.

The Intense Excitement

I just feel it! I know we are near because of the cold air goes through my jacket.

Finally, the famous Kennon Road! The zigzag and the elevating curves is a big challenge to our motorcycle but wait—I heard it says “Don’t worry, I won’t give up”. What a very cooperative buddy!

The first who welcome us is the Lion Head. (Say cheese!)

I don’t know those mountains but it takes my breath away for seconds. I extend my both arms to feel the impact!

The City of Lovers

The night walking at the Burnham Park, the jump shot in front of the Mansion House, the window shopping in Camp John Hay (since the ambience is for rich kids), the pony ride in Wright Park, eating corn in Mines View Park, the sweet cotton candy in SM Baguio, drinking strawberry taho which is available everywhere, the souvenir t-shirt in the local market, and walking along Session Road (why I forgot to bring my running shoes?)

And the best part is that we hold our hands together in every step we take.

This one of a kind joy ride experience binds us more together and I’m excited to say “I do”.

*According to survey, taking a road trip with your loved one will improve your relationship.

I am nothing without Your love…

I will not exist without Your grace…

I am weak without Your embrace…

And I am sorry if I forgot to call Your Name

Life is so hard without you oh Lord…

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
Everyone of us lives in our childhood dreams…
I, myself sometimes live in my fantasies…
The sun, the stars, and the moon..
Christmas is Commitment

“Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

Did you hear that? Exciting, right? We are all excited for the longest and the merriest celebration of Christmas season! We started to count the days from September to December. And up to this moment, we are really planning for a great moments for a family reunions and special gatherings with our friends and relatives. It is part of the Filipino tradition to spend more time with the people we love and share every moments of happiness with them.

Back to our childhood memory—we believed in a dream that Santa Claus will come to our home and secretly put gifts beside the Christmas tree or put inside the Christmas socks which we prepared. We believed that Christmas is a time for new clothes, for new shoes and for new toys. We believed that we should always receive gifts from our ninongs and ninangs. And most of all, we believed that all of our wishes will come true.

But as we grow older, what we had believed somehow changed. Maturity captured our dreams and we are now living in reality that Christmas is far different from what we learned from our childhood days.

The most important is that we see the smile on the faces of our children because they are excited for your gifts. We see the hope in our elders because they knew you will visit them after a long time. It’s time for reunions and reconciliation.

For Filipinos, material things are less important, relationships and commitments are more important. Far different from the ‘happiness’ we felt when we received new toys and play it alone in our room.

Filipinos are very warm in celebrating Christmas, so be thankful that we don’t have snow in the Philippines because it only make us cold and frigid.  Also, be thankful if Santa Clause did not originate in our country because if he does, maybe we don’t bother ourselves to buy any presents for our family and friends.

Who is Santa Clause in your present life?  To answer this question, you need to look at the people around you. It could be your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, or your special someone who fulfills your heart with happiness and joy.

Christmas is about keeping relationships and letting it grow for years, and that is a unique evidence of how Filipinos value the precious time of Jesus Christ.

Ikaw Ba Ay Manhid

Abangan.
